JavaScript: Number Formatting

Hello. Let's do a bit of JavaScript. "Number Formatting" I mean in the title is as such: 100 is formatted to 100 1000 is formatted to 1,000 10000 is formatted to 10,000 123456 is formatted to 123,456 9876543210 is formatted to 9,876,543,210 1123.58 is formatted to 1,123.58 By adding a comma separator every three digits. We can achieve that through: A loop. Using for — backwards loop. BUT! Before that, we need to separate — the negative sign — if exists, the digits part — this part is the subject of the formatting, and the decimals part. Then lump everything together as the final result. Power of regular expression. 💪👺 💪 Let us begin. Loop Method As I've mentioned above, this has separation stages, then the loop. You can read the comments in the code to understand the flow. function formatNumberWithLo...

Gemini Pronunciation

Background Gemini is quite useful lately. The Google's AI is attached to my Google account, so I thought — Why not employ it? — And I did. Gemini is rather tremendous. Mostly. Anyway, moving on. The Utterance I just found out the creators of Gemini pronounce it "JEM-IN-EYE". Indeed. JEM-IN-EYE You know, "bikini". If we followed that rule — the "eye" suffix — then it'd become "BIKIN-EYE". Possibly even — BYE-KYEN-EYE Or "zucchini". Never being said "ZOO-KEEN-EYE". — Pardon me, good sir. Could you add some more zoo-keen-eye into my pasta? That would be splendid. Thank you. English dictionaries, all of them, put either — /ˈdʒɛmɪnaɪ/ , /ˈdʒem.ɪ.naɪ/ , or /ˈdʒem.ə.naɪ/ — for Gemini pronunciation. Which I found utterly amusing. AMUSING. Hence, this post. Well, all things considered, the "G" in Gemini — if we go back to Classical Latin root — is...

Chess: Pub Brawl With a Board Attached — A Horwitz Comedy

I Played Black This is the basic "Horwitz Defence" opening position from my perspective as the defender: This game is pure farce from start to finish. The middlegame was glorious chaos. White's bishop dashing about knocking tables, their knights hopping round like they'd had too much sugar, and by move 34 I'd got a bishop, a knight, and a queen all queuing up to have a go at White's king. Plenty of decisive free materials to capture by both sides because of the chaotic piece placements, but of course, we simply resumed the anarchy. It's a bullet game! Mwahahaha! Let's have a look. You can use your left and right arrows on your keyboard or use the mouse scroll to see the moves back and forth on the chessboard. But first, click the board.

I Wanted to Clean My Keyboard — I Nearly Installed Software Instead

Good morning. 👋 The Keyboard Cleaning So here's what happened. My laptop keyboard was filthy, proper crumbs and fluff everywhere, touchpad too. I grabbed a cloth and just started wiping it down. Laptop still on, screen still awake. Obviously daft because every wipe was pressing keys, opening random windows, and moving the cursor about. Absolute chaos. So I thought — Right. 🤔 I'll just disable the input while I clean it. Off I went to search "how to disable keyboard on Windows 11". And no, the cursor and key press chaos didn't accidentally conjure a software installer. What — The Conjuring: Device Manager Edition? It never asked permission, it installed itself. Rated ⭐⭐⭐⭐ from plenty. Interesting. So instead of Ed and Lorraine Warren, we'd have... other names. Like Geoff and Tina Amazon Web Service. Let's derail a bit — Madam, I have a software-spectre problem at my house. ...
