Front Door Dilemma

Hello

I heard a line from a YouTube video "G.I.JOE Operation Dragonfire: The Movie!"

Here's the YouTube link.

It starts at 25:20. The original line:

Well guys, we can't go in the front door because it's protected by the force field.

I thought the line would go:

Well guys, we can't go in the front door because there's a DOOR. It's locked, guys.

🤔

Comparable to:

Well guys, we can't go through the wall because there's a wall. Quite solid, that. It's protected by the force field of concretes.

Concretes, plural — with the s. — Hmm, debatable, but I'll allow it. ⬅️ "I" is English.

The force field is composed of multiple distinct varieties of concrete — it's drawing power from:

  • High-strength concrete.
  • Reinforced concrete.
  • Prestressed concrete.
  • Possibly some ancient Roman opus caementicium for extra mystical potency.

It's a grand coalition of concretes, united in their singular purpose of stopping us — the guys — from going through that wall.
