This insect was sticking on my nose while I tried to figure out something on the computer. I thought it was dust, turned out, a living mosquito. I took pictures of it. A remarkable all-orange mosquito this was.
Perhaps it is a genetic mutation of sort. I call this as aureo-rufus (golden-red) mutation 🧐 Almost amber in hue.
Its bite was quite odd, it actually felt like a tiny ember instead of mosquito-itch. Thus, that explained why the "dust" felt "weird". But it left no serious poison, it was rather similar to common mosquito after-bite papule.
It had smaller size compared to ordinary mosquito... Perhaps it had not taken the necessary nutrition. Since with this orange color, it would be quite hard to blend in with the surrounding.
According to my action of taking notes in animal world, most of the time, a bright-colored (yellow-red-orange pattern) fellow usually is quite venomous. It indeed followed my observation notes — which is unrelated directly to the writing of the notes.
The bright color is as the visual warning sign for predators, like, me. I predate... I mean hunt... them like a properly tactical maniac. But indeed, I did predate the orange-mosquito fellow.
