The Requested Operation Requires Elevation

This response in Windows terminal:

The requested operation requires elevation.

🤨 What in bleating sheep does that mean?

Elevation? 🤔

Of what?

Spirit? Cholesterol?

Was I trying to open a gateway to the underworld via syntax? Hm.

Indeed, it means the execution needs administrator privilege. But the phrasing is utterly woolgathering. 🐏

My phrasing would be:

The command needs administrator role.

Or a rare breed of civilised Unix:

Access denied: please run as administrator.

Civilised, because of the "please" and the explanation. No such entity is recognised in Unix. It's like a drill sergeant says woogie boogie bababa and smiles at us. That should mean procession toward 1,000 push-ups. Quite right, with the marching band.

Or proper Unix:

Access denied.

Why?

Guess, mortal.

Or powdered wig:

Execution of the entered instruction necessitates administrator-level authority.

It's not hard, is it? We should understand it. Well, necessitate, I know, that necessitates at least three pints. Let's all use necessitate in regular conversation. It necessitates the "necessitate" when the pint count is almost four. Oh by golly, n-e-c-e-s-s-i-t-a-t-e.

Or even jiving:

No admin, no run.

Yes, mon. Hit the reggae! 🎷🪘

But since the caffeinated goblins rule the universe. 🤣

Brilliant. We, as gremlins, honour that.

Let's try that in a pub setting.

I 🐒 : Mate, a pint.
Win-Bar : The requested operation requires elevation.
I 🐒 : Alright. I will elevate my volume. MATE! A PINT! 📢
Win-Bar : The requested operation requires elevation.
I 🐒 : 🤔 Oh, 'ello, luv. A jar of beer, please? And a pint of salt would be wonderful.
Win-Bar : Oh, 'ello, luv. A jar of beer, please? And a pint of salt would be wonderful.: The term 'Oh, 'ello, luv. A jar of beer, please? And a pint of salt would be wonderful.' is not recognized as a name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or executable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.
I 🐒 : Uh. That's rather a loaded statement.
