Hi. 👋
I played White (offence) in this 3 minutes game on Lichess as Anonymous.
This is the fundamental "Modern Defence" opening — from White's perspective, because I played White ➡️ 1. e4 g6.
Opening theory? Ignored. Material balance? — Hm.
In this game, as a drunk bard, my strategy was an alternating:
Let's try this ⇆ Oh, well ⇆ Don't mind if I do!
It was hilarious at the end — 22nd banter. 💥
I didn't realise I constructed a proper prison. Hm, all right, I did plot that.
You can use your left and right arrows on your keyboard or use the mouse scroll to see the moves back and forth on the chessboard. But first, click the board.

Puzzles
I usually do puzzles on Lichess to sharpen my positioning — so many variations! It is not timed, thus it's great to fill our spare time. Three to six puzzles will be sufficient per day. Or per every time we visit Lichess. I did 40,000+ puzzles — since 2017.
Instead of other game, I did chess puzzles. For example — doing puzzles while waiting for a cuppa or waiting something else or someone at somewhere, then muttering inside — OH YOU BLOODY PUZZLE DEVELOPERS! That was rated 1823? At least 2200! THAT VAGUE MELON MOVE? — Then the acceptance afterwards — Well, hm.
And of course before bed. Instead of TikTok or Instagram, puzzles. PUZZLES. Proper CHESS PUZZLES! —
Oh hey, what's world's current trend?
Well, that bishop on
c4has shifty eyes.By the way, endgame puzzles are very interesting. Mostly pawns-king puzzles.

Watch Games
Plenty of great players there — Lichess servers are intense! We would find fascinating plays by those professional, high-rated players.

Play Games
Well, I showed my play on this blog as Anonymous — because it's like a proper jungle with that mode. The pairing is much more intriguing compared to actually logged in. But I don't recommend that, that much.
There are regular tournaments on Lichess and direct pairing.
Much obliged, guv'nor — 'ope to see yer mug again soon! 👋
Mug = face.
Because mug originally referred to a drinking vessel with a face on it.
