Pearl the Slightly-Man

Slightly-Man

Before you guys jump into conclusion, this is a superhero. To be precise, slightly-hero.

But instead of having too much flair, Slightly-Man has power—slightly.

Slightly-Man was born Pearl Grey Babushkovinovich Tea. His peculiar name was indeed given by his parents which were fictional to begin with.

Pearl is a construction worker, a hardly working man in random construction site. Anybody who called him Pearl would consistently have pulpy face for reasons unknown.

Born and raised in a barn, Pearl graduated from a lot of non-academic institutions. If waddling away slowly was considered graduation, then yes. He has the wit of a crow combined with five melted-together humpback whale tacticians and the strength of a bull, if the bull was a human male with no specific training in any sport.

After serving pizza to his fellow workers at the construction site, he knew that he'd be perfect as a public servant. He knew it because the blokes said so, "Hey, you're great as a public servant!" and he nodded satisfyingly.

From that epiyphany moment on, he swore to uphold a smile by wearing a blindfold, but not all the time. And surely there are two holes on the blindfold so that he could breath naturally.

Early Life

Pearl first lied to anybody when he was 4 years old. It was an awkward lie. But lie it was, and Pearl rolled with it as a slightly cute toddler.

During his infancy, his family didn't move to any other place. They stayed in the same spot until he was born. Daddy was slightly annoyed by the experience, hence the name.

Evacuation

Pearl's family strongly believe in strong evacuation. Private school was the first choice, but it was too expensive and offered little focus on evacuation curriculum. Thus he attended ballet club with boxing was its main theme, and doing it half heartedly until he slowly waddled away. Paradox and irony were gracefully the family's motto by heart.

Career

He started out as a cement mixer. He ended up pickpocketed a lot of other workers. "Just $5, he won't notice". Indeed, but a slight miscalculation—for instance, preying on the same person for 3 days straight—wouldn't have been as smart as Pearl thought. Still, he skyrocketed with his $5 sleight of hand. His career went well for Pearl… until it didn't.

(Slightly) Super Powers

Slightly-Man can grow like Ultraman bit. But instead to being a skyscraper, he grows to a slightly taller person. Pearl is a regular 5'5" (170 cm), and when he transforms to Slightly-Man, he can reach up to 5'8" (177 cm). No shoe sole tricks here—it's all in the body-morphing mutation.

He can jump 2 cm higher than average.

Slightly stronger than a regular person (but only after a good meal).

Runs a tiny bit faster (but still gets winded after a block).

Can sense danger... -2 seconds after it happens. Yes! Negative two seconds after it happens.

Slight inconvenience to his opponents is what he does best.

The blindfold is there to make him slightly unrecognizable and to avoid taxation. But at heart, he wants everyone to recognize his face. The press once asked him, "Why the blindfold?", he replied, "Taxes. They can't track me if I can't see them".

You don't need to be extraordinary to be a hero. You just need to be... slightly better than average... to be a slight inconvenience.
